Bismillah al rahman al rahim

يسٓ Arabic Ya Sin English - Abdel Haleem

وَٱلْقُرْءَانِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ Arabic By the wise Qur'an, English - Abdel Haleem

إِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ Arabic You [Muhammad] are truly one of the messengers sent English - Abdel Haleem

عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍۢ مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ Arabic On a straight path, English - Abdel Haleem

تَنزِيلَ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Arabic With a revelation from the Almighty, the Lord of Mercy, English - Abdel Haleem

لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًۭا مَّآ أُنذِرَ ءَابَآؤُهُمْ فَهُمْ غَٰفِلُونَ Arabic To warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, and so they are unaware. English - Abdel Haleem

لَقَدْ حَقَّ ٱلْقَوْلُ عَلَىٰٓ أَكْثَرِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ Arabic The verdict has been passed against most of them, for they refuse to believe. English - Abdel Haleem

إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا فِىٓ أَعْنَٰقِهِمْ أَغْلَٰلًۭا فَهِىَ إِلَى ٱلْأَذْقَانِ فَهُم مُّقْمَحُونَ Arabic [It is as if] We had placed [iron] collars around their necks, right up to their chins so that their heads are forced up English - Abdel Haleem

وَجَعَلْنَا مِنۢ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ سَدًّۭا وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ سَدًّۭا فَأَغْشَيْنَٰهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُبْصِرُونَ Arabic And set barriers before and behind them, blocking their vision: they cannot see. English - Abdel Haleem

وَسَوَآءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَأَنذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُنذِرْهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ Arabic It is all the same to them whether you warn them or not: they will not believe. English - Abdel Haleem

إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلذِّكْرَ وَخَشِىَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنَ بِٱلْغَيْبِ ۖ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٍۢ وَأَجْرٍۢ كَرِيمٍ Arabic You can warn only those who will follow the Qur'an and hold the Merciful One in awe, though they cannot see Him: give such people the glad news of forgiveness and a noble reward. English - Abdel Haleem

إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْىِ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ وَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَدَّمُوا۟ وَءَاثَٰرَهُمْ ۚ وَكُلَّ شَىْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَٰهُ فِىٓ إِمَامٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ Arabic We shall certainly bring the dead back to life, and We record what they send ahead of them as well as what they leave behind: We keep an account of everything in a clear Record. English - Abdel Haleem

وَٱضْرِبْ لَهُم مَّثَلًا أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ إِذْ جَآءَهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ Arabic Give them the example of the people to whose town messengers came. English - Abdel Haleem

إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْهِمُ ٱثْنَيْنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَعَزَّزْنَا بِثَالِثٍۢ فَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ إِلَيْكُم مُّرْسَلُونَ Arabic We sent two messengers but they rejected both. Then We reinforced them with a third. English - Abdel Haleem

قَالُوا۟ مَآ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا بَشَرٌۭ مِّثْلُنَا وَمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ مِن شَىْءٍ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا تَكْذِبُونَ Arabic They said, ‘Truly, we are messengers to you,’ English - Abdel Haleem

قَالُوا۟ رَبُّنَا يَعْلَمُ إِنَّآ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمُرْسَلُونَ Arabic But they answered, ‘You are only men like ourselves. The Lord of Mercy has sent nothing; you are just lying.’ They said, ‘Our Lord knows that we have been sent to you. English - Abdel Haleem

وَمَا عَلَيْنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ Arabic Our duty is only to deliver the message to you,’ English - Abdel Haleem

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا تَطَيَّرْنَا بِكُمْ ۖ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهُوا۟ لَنَرْجُمَنَّكُمْ وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ Arabic But they answered, ‘We think you are an evil omen. If you do not stop, we shall stone you, and inflict a painful torment on you.’ English - Abdel Haleem

قَالُوا۟ طَٰٓئِرُكُم مَّعَكُمْ ۚ أَئِن ذُكِّرْتُم ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌۭ مُّسْرِفُونَ Arabic The messengers said, ‘The evil omen is within yourselves. Why do you take it as an evil omen when you are reminded of the Truth? You are going too far!’ English - Abdel Haleem

وَجَآءَ مِنْ أَقْصَا ٱلْمَدِينَةِ رَجُلٌۭ يَسْعَىٰ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ Arabic Then, from the furthest part of the city, a man came running. He said, ‘My people, follow the messengers. English - Abdel Haleem

ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ مَن لَّا يَسْـَٔلُكُمْ أَجْرًۭا وَهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ Arabic Follow them: they are not asking you to reward them and they are rightly guided. English - Abdel Haleem

وَمَا لِىَ لَآ أَعْبُدُ ٱلَّذِى فَطَرَنِى وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ Arabic Why should I not worship the One who created me? It is to Him that you will be returned. English - Abdel Haleem

ءَأَتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةً إِن يُرِدْنِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ بِضُرٍّۢ لَّا تُغْنِ عَنِّى شَفَٰعَتُهُمْ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا يُنقِذُونِ Arabic How could I take besides Him any other gods, whose intercession will not help me and who would not be able to save me if the Lord of Mercy wished to harm me? English - Abdel Haleem

إِنِّىٓ إِذًۭا لَّفِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍ Arabic Then I would clearly be in the wrong. English - Abdel Haleem

إِنِّىٓ ءَامَنتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَٱسْمَعُونِ Arabic I believe in your Lord, so listen to me.’ English - Abdel Haleem

قِيلَ ٱدْخُلِ ٱلْجَنَّةَ ۖ قَالَ يَٰلَيْتَ قَوْمِى يَعْلَمُونَ Arabic He was told, ‘Enter the Garden,’ so he said, ‘If only my people knew English - Abdel Haleem

بِمَا غَفَرَ لِى رَبِّى وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَ Arabic How my Lord has forgiven me and set me among the highly honoured.’ English - Abdel Haleem

وَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ مِن جُندٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا كُنَّا مُنزِلِينَ Arabic After him We did not send any army from heaven against his people, nor were We about to: English - Abdel Haleem

إِن كَانَتْ إِلَّا صَيْحَةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ فَإِذَا هُمْ خَٰمِدُونَ Arabic There was just one blast, and they fell down lifeless. English - Abdel Haleem

يَٰحَسْرَةً عَلَى ٱلْعِبَادِ ۚ مَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ Arabic Alas for human beings! Whenever a messenger comes to them they ridicule him. English - Abdel Haleem

أَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْقُرُونِ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ Arabic Do they not see how many generations We have destroyed before them, none of whom will ever come back to them? English - Abdel Haleem

وَإِن كُلٌّۭ لَّمَّا جَمِيعٌۭ لَّدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ Arabic [Yet] all of them will be brought before Us. English - Abdel Haleem

وَءَايَةٌۭ لَّهُمُ ٱلْأَرْضُ ٱلْمَيْتَةُ أَحْيَيْنَٰهَا وَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهَا حَبًّۭا فَمِنْهُ يَأْكُلُونَ Arabic There is a sign for them in the lifeless earth: We give it life and We produce grain from it for them to eat; English - Abdel Haleem

وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا جَنَّٰتٍۢ مِّن نَّخِيلٍۢ وَأَعْنَٰبٍۢ وَفَجَّرْنَا فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلْعُيُونِ Arabic We have put gardens of date palms and grapes in the earth, and We have made springs of water gush out of it English - Abdel Haleem

لِيَأْكُلُوا۟ مِن ثَمَرِهِۦ وَمَا عَمِلَتْهُ أَيْدِيهِمْ ۖ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ Arabic So that they could eat its fruit. It was not their own hands that made all this. How can they not give thanks? English - Abdel Haleem

سُبْحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلْأَزْوَٰجَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّا تُنۢبِتُ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَمِنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَمِمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ Arabic Glory be to Him who created all the pairs of things that the earth produces, as well as themselves and other things they do not know about. English - Abdel Haleem

وَءَايَةٌۭ لَّهُمُ ٱلَّيْلُ نَسْلَخُ مِنْهُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فَإِذَا هُم مُّظْلِمُونَ Arabic The night is also a sign for them: We strip the daylight from it, and– lo and behold!– they are in darkness. English - Abdel Haleem

وَٱلشَّمْسُ تَجْرِى لِمُسْتَقَرٍّۢ لَّهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَقْدِيرُ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْعَلِيمِ Arabic The sun, too, runs its determined course laid down for it by the Almighty, the All Knowing. English - Abdel Haleem

وَٱلْقَمَرَ قَدَّرْنَٰهُ مَنَازِلَ حَتَّىٰ عَادَ كَٱلْعُرْجُونِ ٱلْقَدِيمِ Arabic We have determined phases for the moon until finally it becomes like an old date-stalk. English - Abdel Haleem

لَا ٱلشَّمْسُ يَنۢبَغِى لَهَآ أَن تُدْرِكَ ٱلْقَمَرَ وَلَا ٱلَّيْلُ سَابِقُ ٱلنَّهَارِ ۚ وَكُلٌّۭ فِى فَلَكٍۢ يَسْبَحُونَ Arabic The sun cannot overtake the moon, nor can the night outrun the day: each floats in [its own] orbit. English - Abdel Haleem

وَءَايَةٌۭ لَّهُمْ أَنَّا حَمَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ Arabic Another sign for them is that We carried their seed in the laden Ark, English - Abdel Haleem

وَخَلَقْنَا لَهُم مِّن مِّثْلِهِۦ مَا يَرْكَبُونَ Arabic And We have made similar things for them to ride in. English - Abdel Haleem

وَإِن نَّشَأْ نُغْرِقْهُمْ فَلَا صَرِيخَ لَهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنقَذُونَ Arabic If We wished, We could drown them, and there would be no one to help them: they could not be saved. English - Abdel Haleem

إِلَّا رَحْمَةًۭ مِّنَّا وَمَتَٰعًا إِلَىٰ حِينٍۢ Arabic Only by Our mercy could they be reprieved to enjoy life for a while. English - Abdel Haleem

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱتَّقُوا۟ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَمَا خَلْفَكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ Arabic Yet when they are told, ‘Beware of what lies before and behind you, so that you may be given mercy,’ English - Abdel Haleem

وَمَا تَأْتِيهِم مِّنْ ءَايَةٍۢ مِّنْ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ Arabic They ignore every single sign that comes to them from their Lord, English - Abdel Haleem

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ أَنفِقُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَنُطْعِمُ مَن لَّوْ يَشَآءُ ٱللَّهُ أَطْعَمَهُۥٓ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا فِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ Arabic And when they are told, ‘Give to others out of what God has provided for you,’ the disbelievers say to the believers, ‘Why should we feed those that God could feed if He wanted? You must be deeply misguided.’ English - Abdel Haleem

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ Arabic And they say, ‘When will this promise be fulfilled, if what you say is true?’ English - Abdel Haleem

مَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا صَيْحَةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ تَأْخُذُهُمْ وَهُمْ يَخِصِّمُونَ Arabic But all they are waiting for is a single blast that will overtake them while they are still arguing with each other. English - Abdel Haleem

فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ تَوْصِيَةًۭ وَلَآ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِمْ يَرْجِعُونَ Arabic They will have no time to make bequests, nor will they have the chance to return to their own people. English - Abdel Haleem

وَنُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَإِذَا هُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَجْدَاثِ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَنسِلُونَ Arabic The Trumpet will be sounded and– lo and behold!– they will rush out to their Lord from their graves. English - Abdel Haleem

قَالُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَا مَنۢ بَعَثَنَا مِن مَّرْقَدِنَا ۜ ۗ هَٰذَا مَا وَعَدَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَصَدَقَ ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ Arabic They will say, ‘Alas for us! Who has resurrected us from our resting places?’ [They will be told], ‘This is what the Lord of Mercy promised, and the messengers told the truth.’ English - Abdel Haleem

إِن كَانَتْ إِلَّا صَيْحَةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ فَإِذَا هُمْ جَمِيعٌۭ لَّدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ Arabic It was just one single blast and then– lo and behold!– they were all brought before Us. English - Abdel Haleem

فَٱلْيَوْمَ لَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌۭ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ Arabic ‘Today, no soul will be wronged in the least: you will only be repaid for your deeds. English - Abdel Haleem

إِنَّ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ٱلْيَوْمَ فِى شُغُلٍۢ فَٰكِهُونَ Arabic The people of Paradise today are happily occupied– English - Abdel Haleem

هُمْ وَأَزْوَٰجُهُمْ فِى ظِلَٰلٍ عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ مُتَّكِـُٔونَ Arabic They and their spouses– seated on couches in the shade. English - Abdel Haleem

لَهُمْ فِيهَا فَٰكِهَةٌۭ وَلَهُم مَّا يَدَّعُونَ Arabic There they have fruit and whatever they ask for. English - Abdel Haleem

سَلَٰمٌۭ قَوْلًۭا مِّن رَّبٍّۢ رَّحِيمٍۢ Arabic “Peace,” a word from the Lord of Mercy. English - Abdel Haleem

وَٱمْتَٰزُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ Arabic But step aside today, you guilty ones. English - Abdel Haleem

أَلَمْ أَعْهَدْ إِلَيْكُمْ يَٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ أَن لَّا تَعْبُدُوا۟ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّۭ مُّبِينٌۭ Arabic Children of Adam, did I not command you not to serve Satan, for he was your sworn enemy, English - Abdel Haleem

وَأَنِ ٱعْبُدُونِى ۚ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌۭ مُّسْتَقِيمٌۭ Arabic But to serve Me? This is the straight path. English - Abdel Haleem

وَلَقَدْ أَضَلَّ مِنكُمْ جِبِلًّۭا كَثِيرًا ۖ أَفَلَمْ تَكُونُوا۟ تَعْقِلُونَ Arabic He has led great numbers of you astray. Did you not use your reason? English - Abdel Haleem

هَٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ Arabic So this is the Fire that you were warned against. English - Abdel Haleem

ٱصْلَوْهَا ٱلْيَوْمَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ Arabic Enter it today, because you went on ignoring [my commands].’ English - Abdel Haleem

ٱلْيَوْمَ نَخْتِمُ عَلَىٰٓ أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَتُكَلِّمُنَآ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَتَشْهَدُ أَرْجُلُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ Arabic On that Day We shall seal up their mouths, but their hands will speak to Us, and their feet bear witness to everything they have done. English - Abdel Haleem

وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَطَمَسْنَا عَلَىٰٓ أَعْيُنِهِمْ فَٱسْتَبَقُوا۟ ٱلصِّرَٰطَ فَأَنَّىٰ يُبْصِرُونَ Arabic If it had been Our will, We could have taken away their sight. They would have struggled to find the way, but how could they have seen it? English - Abdel Haleem

وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَمَسَخْنَٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِهِمْ فَمَا ٱسْتَطَٰعُوا۟ مُضِيًّۭا وَلَا يَرْجِعُونَ Arabic If it had been Our will, We could have paralysed them where they stood, so that they could not move forward or backward. English - Abdel Haleem

وَمَن نُّعَمِّرْهُ نُنَكِّسْهُ فِى ٱلْخَلْقِ ۖ أَفَلَا يَعْقِلُونَ Arabic If We extend anyone’s life, We reverse his development. Do they not use their reason? English - Abdel Haleem

وَمَا عَلَّمْنَٰهُ ٱلشِّعْرَ وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُۥٓ ۚ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌۭ وَقُرْءَانٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ Arabic We have not taught the Prophet poetry, nor could he ever have been a poet. English - Abdel Haleem

لِّيُنذِرَ مَن كَانَ حَيًّۭا وَيَحِقَّ ٱلْقَوْلُ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ Arabic This is a revelation, an illuminating Qur'an to warn anyone who is truly alive, so that God’s verdict may be passed against the disbelievers. English - Abdel Haleem

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَا لَهُم مِّمَّا عَمِلَتْ أَيْدِينَآ أَنْعَٰمًۭا فَهُمْ لَهَا مَٰلِكُونَ Arabic Can they not see how, among the things made by Our hands, We have created livestock they control, English - Abdel Haleem

وَذَلَّلْنَٰهَا لَهُمْ فَمِنْهَا رَكُوبُهُمْ وَمِنْهَا يَأْكُلُونَ Arabic And made them obedient, so that some can be used for riding, some for food, English - Abdel Haleem

وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مَنَٰفِعُ وَمَشَارِبُ ۖ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ Arabic Some for other benefits, and some for drink? Will they not give thanks? English - Abdel Haleem

وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةًۭ لَّعَلَّهُمْ يُنصَرُونَ Arabic Yet they have taken other gods besides God to help them, English - Abdel Haleem

لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُمْ جُندٌۭ مُّحْضَرُونَ Arabic Though these could not do so even if they called a whole army of them together! English - Abdel Haleem

فَلَا يَحْزُنكَ قَوْلُهُمْ ۘ إِنَّا نَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ Arabic So [Prophet] do not be distressed at what they say: We know what they conceal and what they reveal. English - Abdel Haleem

أَوَلَمْ يَرَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَٰهُ مِن نُّطْفَةٍۢ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ Arabic Can man not see that We created him from a drop of fluid? Yet– lo and behold!– he disputes openly, English - Abdel Haleem

وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلًۭا وَنَسِىَ خَلْقَهُۥ ۖ قَالَ مَن يُحْىِ ٱلْعِظَٰمَ وَهِىَ رَمِيمٌۭ Arabic Producing arguments against Us, forgetting his own creation. He says, ‘Who can give life back to bones after they have decayed?’ English - Abdel Haleem

قُلْ يُحْيِيهَا ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَهَآ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍۢ ۖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ خَلْقٍ عَلِيمٌ Arabic Say, ‘He who created them in the first place will give them life again: He has full knowledge of every act of creation. English - Abdel Haleem

ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّجَرِ ٱلْأَخْضَرِ نَارًۭا فَإِذَآ أَنتُم مِّنْهُ تُوقِدُونَ Arabic It is He who produces fire for you out of the green tree– lo and behold!– and from this you kindle fire. English - Abdel Haleem

أَوَلَيْسَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يَخْلُقَ مِثْلَهُم ۚ بَلَىٰ وَهُوَ ٱلْخَلَّٰقُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ Arabic Is He who created the heavens and earth not able to create the likes of these people? Of course He is! He is the All Knowing Creator: English - Abdel Haleem
