75. Surah Al-Qiyama
Resurrection
لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ Arabic
By the Day of Resurrection English - Abdel Haleem
وَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلنَّفْسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ Arabic
And by the self-reproaching soul! English - Abdel Haleem
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ Arabic
Does man think We shall not put his bones back together? English - Abdel Haleem
بَلَىٰ قَٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّىَ بَنَانَهُۥ Arabic
In fact, We can reshape his very fingertips. English - Abdel Haleem
بَلْ يُرِيدُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ Arabic
Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: English - Abdel Haleem
يَسْـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ Arabic
He says, ‘So, when will this Day of Resurrection be?’ English - Abdel Haleem
فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلْبَصَرُ Arabic
When eyes are dazzled English - Abdel Haleem
وَخَسَفَ ٱلْقَمَرُ Arabic
And the moon eclipsed, English - Abdel Haleem
وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ Arabic
When the sun and the moon are brought together, English - Abdel Haleem
يَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ ٱلْمَفَرُّ Arabic
On that Day man will say, ‘Where can I escape?’ English - Abdel Haleem
كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ Arabic
Truly, there is no refuge: English - Abdel Haleem
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمُسْتَقَرُّ Arabic
They will all return to your Lord on that Day. English - Abdel Haleem
يُنَبَّؤُا۟ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ Arabic
On that Day, man will be told what he put first and what he put last. English - Abdel Haleem
بَلِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٌۭ Arabic
Truly, man is a clear witness against himself, English - Abdel Haleem
وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ Arabic
Despite all the excuses he may put forward. English - Abdel Haleem
لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓ Arabic
[Prophet], do not rush your tongue in an attempt to hasten [your memorization of] the Revelation: English - Abdel Haleem
إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُۥ وَقُرْءَانَهُۥ Arabic
We shall make sure of its safe collection and recitation. English - Abdel Haleem
فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعْ قُرْءَانَهُۥ Arabic
When We have recited it, repeat the recitation English - Abdel Haleem
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُۥ Arabic
And We shall make it clear. English - Abdel Haleem
كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ Arabic
Truly you [people] love this fleeting world English - Abdel Haleem
وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلْءَاخِرَةَ Arabic
And neglect the life to come. English - Abdel Haleem
وُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ نَّاضِرَةٌ Arabic
On that Day there will be radiant faces, English - Abdel Haleem
إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌۭ Arabic
Looking towards their Lord, English - Abdel Haleem
وَوُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَاسِرَةٌۭ Arabic
And on that Day there will be the sad and despairing faces English - Abdel Haleem
تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌۭ Arabic
Of those who realize that a great calamity is about to befall them. English - Abdel Haleem
كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِىَ Arabic
Truly, when the soul reaches the collarbone; English - Abdel Haleem
وَقِيلَ مَنْ ۜ رَاقٍۢ Arabic
When it is said, ‘Could any charm-healer save him now?’; English - Abdel Haleem
وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلْفِرَاقُ Arabic
When he knows it is the final parting; English - Abdel Haleem
وَٱلْتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ Arabic
When his legs are brought together: English - Abdel Haleem
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمَسَاقُ Arabic
On that day he will be driven towards your Lord. English - Abdel Haleem
فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ Arabic
He neither believed nor prayed, English - Abdel Haleem
وَلَٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ Arabic
But denied the truth and turned away, English - Abdel Haleem
ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ Arabic
Walking back to his people with a conceited swagger. English - Abdel Haleem
أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ Arabic
Closer and closer it comes to you. English - Abdel Haleem
ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰٓ Arabic
Closer and closer still. English - Abdel Haleem
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى Arabic
Does man think he will be left alone? English - Abdel Haleem
أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةًۭ مِّن مَّنِىٍّۢ يُمْنَىٰ Arabic
Was he not just a drop of spilt-out sperm, English - Abdel Haleem
ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةًۭ فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ Arabic
Which became a clinging form, which God shaped in due proportion, English - Abdel Haleem
فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ Arabic
Fashioning from it the two sexes, male and female? English - Abdel Haleem
أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْۦِىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ Arabic
Does He who can do this not have the power to bring the dead back to life? English - Abdel Haleem
