Abasa | He Frowned | عبس 80. Surah Abasa He Frowned

Bismillah al rahman al rahim

عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّىٰٓ Arabic He frowned and turned away English - Abdel Haleem

أَن جَآءَهُ ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ Arabic When the blind man came to him–– English - Abdel Haleem

وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّهُۥ يَزَّكَّىٰٓ Arabic For all you know, he might have grown in spirit, English - Abdel Haleem

أَوْ يَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنفَعَهُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰٓ Arabic Or taken note of something useful to him. English - Abdel Haleem

أَمَّا مَنِ ٱسْتَغْنَىٰ Arabic For the self-satisfied one English - Abdel Haleem

فَأَنتَ لَهُۥ تَصَدَّىٰ Arabic You go out of your way–– English - Abdel Haleem

وَمَا عَلَيْكَ أَلَّا يَزَّكَّىٰ Arabic Though you are not to be blamed for his lack of spiritual growth–– English - Abdel Haleem

وَأَمَّا مَن جَآءَكَ يَسْعَىٰ Arabic But from the one who has come to you full of eagerness English - Abdel Haleem

وَهُوَ يَخْشَىٰ Arabic And awe English - Abdel Haleem

فَأَنتَ عَنْهُ تَلَهَّىٰ Arabic You allow yourself to be distracted. English - Abdel Haleem

كَلَّآ إِنَّهَا تَذْكِرَةٌۭ Arabic No indeed! This [Qur'an] is a lesson English - Abdel Haleem

فَمَن شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُۥ Arabic From which those who wish to be taught should learn, English - Abdel Haleem

فِى صُحُفٍۢ مُّكَرَّمَةٍۢ Arabic [written] on honoured, English - Abdel Haleem

مَّرْفُوعَةٍۢ مُّطَهَّرَةٍۭ Arabic Exalted, pure pages, English - Abdel Haleem

بِأَيْدِى سَفَرَةٍۢ Arabic By the hands of English - Abdel Haleem

كِرَامٍۭ بَرَرَةٍۢ Arabic Noble and virtuous scribes. English - Abdel Haleem

قُتِلَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مَآ أَكْفَرَهُۥ Arabic Woe to man! How ungrateful he is! English - Abdel Haleem

مِنْ أَىِّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقَهُۥ Arabic From what thing does God create him? English - Abdel Haleem

مِن نُّطْفَةٍ خَلَقَهُۥ فَقَدَّرَهُۥ Arabic He creates him from a droplet, He proportions him, English - Abdel Haleem

ثُمَّ ٱلسَّبِيلَ يَسَّرَهُۥ Arabic He makes the way easy for him, English - Abdel Haleem

ثُمَّ أَمَاتَهُۥ فَأَقْبَرَهُۥ Arabic Then He causes him to die and be buried. English - Abdel Haleem

ثُمَّ إِذَا شَآءَ أَنشَرَهُۥ Arabic When He wills, He will raise him up again. English - Abdel Haleem

كَلَّا لَمَّا يَقْضِ مَآ أَمَرَهُۥ Arabic Yet man does not fulfil God’s commands. English - Abdel Haleem

فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِهِۦٓ Arabic Let man consider the food he eats! English - Abdel Haleem

أَنَّا صَبَبْنَا ٱلْمَآءَ صَبًّۭا Arabic We pour down abundant water English - Abdel Haleem

ثُمَّ شَقَقْنَا ٱلْأَرْضَ شَقًّۭا Arabic And cause the soil to split open. English - Abdel Haleem

فَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا حَبًّۭا Arabic We make grain grow, English - Abdel Haleem

وَعِنَبًۭا وَقَضْبًۭا Arabic And vines, fresh vegetation, English - Abdel Haleem

وَزَيْتُونًۭا وَنَخْلًۭا Arabic Olive trees, date palms, English - Abdel Haleem

وَحَدَآئِقَ غُلْبًۭا Arabic Luscious gardens, English - Abdel Haleem

وَفَٰكِهَةًۭ وَأَبًّۭا Arabic Fruits, and fodder: English - Abdel Haleem

مَّتَٰعًۭا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَٰمِكُمْ Arabic All for you and your livestock to enjoy. English - Abdel Haleem

فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلصَّآخَّةُ Arabic When the Deafening Blast comes–– English - Abdel Haleem

يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ ٱلْمَرْءُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ Arabic The Day man will flee from his own brother, English - Abdel Haleem

وَأُمِّهِۦ وَأَبِيهِ Arabic His mother, his father, English - Abdel Haleem

وَصَٰحِبَتِهِۦ وَبَنِيهِ Arabic His wife, his children: English - Abdel Haleem

لِكُلِّ ٱمْرِئٍۢ مِّنْهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ شَأْنٌۭ يُغْنِيهِ Arabic Each of them will be absorbed in concerns of their own on that Day– English - Abdel Haleem

وُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ مُّسْفِرَةٌۭ Arabic On that Day some faces will be beaming, English - Abdel Haleem

ضَاحِكَةٌۭ مُّسْتَبْشِرَةٌۭ Arabic Laughing, and rejoicing, English - Abdel Haleem

وَوُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَيْهَا غَبَرَةٌۭ Arabic But some faces will be dust-stained English - Abdel Haleem

تَرْهَقُهَا قَتَرَةٌ Arabic And covered in darkness: English - Abdel Haleem

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْكَفَرَةُ ٱلْفَجَرَةُ Arabic Those are the disbelievers, the licentious. English - Abdel Haleem
