Bismillah al rahman al rahim

وَٱلْفَجْرِ Arabic By the Daybreak, English - Abdel Haleem

وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍۢ Arabic By the Ten Nights, English - Abdel Haleem

وَٱلشَّفْعِ وَٱلْوَتْرِ Arabic By the even and the odd, English - Abdel Haleem

وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ Arabic By the passing night –– English - Abdel Haleem

هَلْ فِى ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٌۭ لِّذِى حِجْرٍ Arabic Is this oath strong enough for a rational person? English - Abdel Haleem

أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ Arabic Have you [Prophet] considered how your Lord dealt with [the people] of 'Ad, English - Abdel Haleem

إِرَمَ ذَاتِ ٱلْعِمَادِ Arabic Of Iram, [the city] of lofty pillars, English - Abdel Haleem

ٱلَّتِى لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِى ٱلْبِلَٰدِ Arabic Whose like has never been made in any land, English - Abdel Haleem

وَثَمُودَ ٱلَّذِينَ جَابُوا۟ ٱلصَّخْرَ بِٱلْوَادِ Arabic And the Thamud, who hewed into the rocks in the valley, English - Abdel Haleem

وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِى ٱلْأَوْتَادِ Arabic And the mighty and powerful Pharaoh? English - Abdel Haleem

ٱلَّذِينَ طَغَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْبِلَٰدِ Arabic All of them committed excesses in their lands, English - Abdel Haleem

فَأَكْثَرُوا۟ فِيهَا ٱلْفَسَادَ Arabic And spread corruption there: English - Abdel Haleem

فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ Arabic Your Lord let a scourge of punishment loose on them. English - Abdel Haleem

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِٱلْمِرْصَادِ Arabic Your Lord is always watchful. English - Abdel Haleem

فَأَمَّا ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ إِذَا مَا ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَأَكْرَمَهُۥ وَنَعَّمَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّىٓ أَكْرَمَنِ Arabic [The nature of] man is that, when his Lord tries him through honour and blessings, he says, ‘My Lord has honoured me,’ English - Abdel Haleem

وَأَمَّآ إِذَا مَا ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّىٓ أَهَٰنَنِ Arabic But when He tries him through the restriction of his provision, he says, ‘My Lord has humiliated me.’ English - Abdel Haleem

كَلَّا ۖ بَل لَّا تُكْرِمُونَ ٱلْيَتِيمَ Arabic No indeed! You [people] do not honour orphans, English - Abdel Haleem

وَلَا تَحَٰٓضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ Arabic You do not urge one another to feed the poor, English - Abdel Haleem

وَتَأْكُلُونَ ٱلتُّرَاثَ أَكْلًۭا لَّمًّۭا Arabic You consume inheritance greedily, English - Abdel Haleem

وَتُحِبُّونَ ٱلْمَالَ حُبًّۭا جَمًّۭا Arabic And you love wealth with a passion. English - Abdel Haleem

كَلَّآ إِذَا دُكَّتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ دَكًّۭا دَكًّۭا Arabic No indeed! When the earth is pounded to dust, pounded and pounded, English - Abdel Haleem

وَجَآءَ رَبُّكَ وَٱلْمَلَكُ صَفًّۭا صَفًّۭا Arabic When your Lord comes with the angels, rank upon rank, English - Abdel Haleem

وَجِا۟ىٓءَ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِجَهَنَّمَ ۚ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ Arabic When Hell is that Day brought near– on that Day man will take heed, but what good will that be to him then? English - Abdel Haleem

يَقُولُ يَٰلَيْتَنِى قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِى Arabic He will say, ‘Would that I had provided for this life to come!’ English - Abdel Haleem

فَيَوْمَئِذٍۢ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌۭ Arabic On that Day, no one will punish as He punishes, English - Abdel Haleem

وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌۭ Arabic And no one will bind as He binds. English - Abdel Haleem

يَٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفْسُ ٱلْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ Arabic ‘[But] you, soul at peace: English - Abdel Haleem

ٱرْجِعِىٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةًۭ مَّرْضِيَّةًۭ Arabic Return to your Lord well pleased and well pleasing; English - Abdel Haleem

فَٱدْخُلِى فِى عِبَٰدِى Arabic Go in among My servants; English - Abdel Haleem

وَٱدْخُلِى جَنَّتِى Arabic And into My Garden.’ English - Abdel Haleem
